Terms of Service

These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of the CLIGN platform, applications, and services (collectively, the “Service”). By creating an account or using CLIGN, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

1. Description of service

CLIGN is a student productivity platform that helps college students organize their semester, classes, deadlines, lectures, and study activity. Features include syllabus upload, calendar generation, lecture recording and transcription, flashcards, quizzes, and optional integrations with third-party services such as Google Calendar and Gmail.

2. Eligibility and accounts

You must be at least 13 years old to use CLIGN. If you are under 18, you represent that you have permission from a parent or guardian. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for all activity that occurs under your account. You agree to provide accurate, current, and complete information during registration and to keep it up to date.

3. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

  • Use CLIGN for any illegal, harmful, or fraudulent purpose.
  • Upload, store, or share content that violates the rights of others or applicable law.
  • Attempt to gain unauthorized access to the Service, other users' accounts, or our systems.
  • Interfere with or disrupt the Service, including by introducing viruses or malicious code.
  • Reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble any part of CLIGN.
  • Use automated means to access the Service in a way that places an unreasonable load on our infrastructure.

4. User content

You retain ownership of any content you upload or create in CLIGN, including syllabi, notes, recordings, and schedules (“User Content”). By using the Service, you grant CLIGN a limited license to process, store, and display your User Content solely for the purpose of providing and improving the Service.

5. Google API integrations

CLIGN may connect to Google services such as Google Calendar and Gmail. These integrations are optional and require your explicit consent. By enabling an integration, you authorize CLIGN to access and process the Google data necessary to perform the requested features. You can revoke this access at any time in Settings → Integrations or through your Google Account permissions. CLIGN's use of Google data complies with the Google API Services User Data Policy.

6. Intellectual property

CLIGN and its original content, features, and functionality are owned by CLIGN and are protected by copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws. You may not copy, modify, distribute, or create derivative works of CLIGN without our prior written consent.

7. Termination

We may suspend or terminate your account and access to the Service at any time, with or without notice, for conduct that we believe violates these Terms or is harmful to CLIGN or other users. You may delete your account at any time in Settings or by contacting support.

8. Disclaimers

CLIGN is provided “as is” and “as available” without warranties of any kind, either express or implied. We do not guarantee that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or completely secure. Academic planning features are aids only and do not replace official school calendars, advising, or your own judgment.

9. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, CLIGN and its affiliates, officers, employees, and agents will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of profits or data, arising out of or related to your use of the Service.

10. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, without regard to conflict of law principles. Any disputes arising under these Terms will be resolved in the state or federal courts located in California.

11. Changes to these terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. We will notify you of material changes by email or through the Service. Your continued use of CLIGN after changes take effect means you accept the revised Terms.
